Vizio P42 HDTV: High Viewing Quality at a Low Price

It’s a known fact that the prices of plasma televisions has gone down significantly over the years, making them more affordable for a greater number of consumers.  But California-based consumer electronics company V, Inc. takes this trend further with its Vizio P42 plasma HDTV, which seems to strike the perfect balance between price and quality.

Many consumers have been pleasantly surprised by how well this 42-inch (106.68 cm) high-definition plasma television performs for its price.  At approximately $1700, it has many of the features offered by its more expensive counterparts.  For one thing, it includes a built-in ATSC tuner for receiving HD programming, unlike some other more expensive models, for which users have to purchase a separate device to achieve the same result.  Plus, the QAM digital cable is able to support several HD formats.

The 2:3 pull-down of the Vizio P42 plasma screen’s video processing system makes it ideal for watching DVD movies.  Many other features make it a worthy choice for watching other types of material as well: the advanced contrast ratio, panel brightness, high level of color reproduction, and a host of others.

There seems to be a disparity between how users and critics perceive the Vizio P42 plasma HDTV, with the former a bit disappointed in its performance (especially when compared to other more well-known brands) and the latter highly satisfied.  However, the fact that the P42 is selling well is an indication that consumers are pleased with its performance and that before too long, the brand will gain greater market visibility as well.
